Friends Manager (Fundraising / Development Team)

25 hours (over 4 days) per week.  To cover maternity leave - up to December 2017

Our Friends are at the heart of everything we do.

This position is a communications-based role, involving the promotion of and support for the Friends of Aldeburgh Music and Annual Donors.  On a day-to-day basis you will be renewing and acknowledging membership donations for Friends, as well as working closely wiht the Head of Development to maintain the annual cycle of Annual Donor renewals and correspondence.  You will also be providing support to potential and existing donors by phone, email and post.

The Friends Manager will require excellent team-working skills both within the Department and in the wider organisation.  Within the Development department you will work closely with the Events Co-ordinator to deliver a programme of Friends Events, and will expected to attend all such events during the Aldeburgh Festival, as well as provide support for other key fundraising events.

Experience in a similar fundraising or relationship-building role is essential along with excellent time management skills and the ability to work on simultaneous tasks and projects.

Our ideal candidate will have administration experience and a good working knowledge of Microsoft applications.  Attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly (verbally and in writing) are essential.  Knowledge of classical music and/or experience of working within an arts organisation would be ideal.
