Aldeburgh Young Musicians is the result of a unique partnership between the leading music education and performance organisations in the Eastern region: the three county music services of Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk, together with specialists Pro Corda, the Junior Guildhall School of Music & Drama (London), the Purcell School, Woodbridge School and Aldeburgh Music.

In October 2008 Aldeburgh Young Musicians worked with Alex Wilson and a line-up of leading artists from the world of Latin American music.

Young composers Tom Rose and Alex Cook created pieces that were performed by the young musicians during an end-of-course Open Session, along with Benigo Echemendia's 'Camina y Prende el Fogon'.
