Information

This courseprovides the opportunity for musicians of all disciplines (singers, instrumentalists, composers and animateurs) to learn more about working in the field of arts education, with a focus on working with juvenile offenders at HMP & YOI Warren Hill.

  • The course will help you to develop the necessary transferable skills in assisting, planning and leading workshops for non-specialist musical groups through creative arts.

  • Music in Prisons (The Irene Taylor Trust), practising experts of national acclaim, will lead a team of animateurs and specialists in this field to guide, support and challenge you.

  • The course will include participants leading workshops within HMP & YOI Warren Hill, Suffolk for juvenile offenders.

  • This course would suit musicians looking to develop their workshop skills to use in the professional field. No previous experience of working in either education or with juvenile offenders is necessarily required. However, we do require you to have a passion for this type of work

  • Please note - All applicants may be subject to Police checks. Limited places available.
