• purchase of the 999-year lease of Snape Maltings Concert Hall, the Britten–Pears
• Building and existing ancillary spaces, including the car parking areas
• purchase of additional redundant buildings for conversion
• redevelopment of these buildings to provide:
• Britten Studio
• Jerwood Kiln Studio
• two smaller studios
• artist social space, kitchen, offices and storage
• equipping the spaces including the purchase of new pianos
• landscaping
We are moving ahead with the development of some of the spaces earmarked for future growth,
which will hugely improve the way the Aldeburgh Music site functions as a campus. These include
converting the old dovecote into a studio for use by writers, visual artists and musicians; the
creation of an artists cafe; a new public open space and an information centre.
