Aronowitz Ensemble
Schubert Notturno for piano trio D897
Mendelssohn String Quintet No.2 in B flat
Britten Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge for solo piano
Bridge Piano Quintet in D minor
Launched from an Aldeburgh Residency, seven outstanding young soloists form an ensemble that melds passionate intensity with perceptive musicianship.
Uncovering fresh delights even in the most familiar of chamber music and oft-neglected English works for piano and strings, their Prom prefaces Bridge’s big-hearted Romantic quintet with Mendelssohn’s rich, honeyed warmth and Schubert’s delightful Nocturne.
Also, a piano rarity – only the second performance of Britten’s homage to his teacher.
‘The Aronowitz works as a true ensemble, listening, responding, moving as one and creating mellifluous, fascinating textures’ - The Daily Telegraph
