Handel Flavio (Performed in English)
Flavio (1724) is a rarely performed, humorous opera, written for the finest Italian singers of the day.
The king's inelegant infatuations (reminiscent of the kings of England at the time!) cause some terrible mischief at court, running to a slap, a garrotting and a fateful duel - but it all leads to a double wedding and general celebration in one of Handel's most joyous choruses.

Performed in period costume on a brilliant blue set, this new production pays heed to every small mood swing in this lively, original opera.
'An astonishing achievement...the theatricality emerges with effortless artifice.' - The Sunday Times

This autumn, English Touring Opera commemorate with their Handel Festival the 250th anniversary of the death of George Frideric Handel, whose works for the stage represent the highest achievement in opera in this country.
An ambitious presentation of some lesser-known stage works, they bring the two most exciting operas from this Handel Festival to Snape.
'All should cherish English Touring Opera, one of the most innovative companies in the country.' - The Observer
