The Tale of Two Souls
After six months of developing new techniques and skills, Aldeburgh Music's newly launched youth group will perform a piece which includes a range of different vocal styles, from beatboxing to plainchant.
'The Tale of Two Souls' tells a story of local landscapes and local people, taking place on the cliffs of Dunwich. It is the tale of a ballet dancer and a lost soul in purgatory. The piece, devised by the group and supporting artists, will be accompanied by eight musicians consisting of local young people, new graduates and professional musicians.
This group of 25 teenagers has been immersed in workshops of many different disciplines, more recently including composition, advanced vocal training and story boarding. Each and every activity over the past six months has inspired them and developed their work together.
The performance will be led by Group A's Artistic Director and jazz musician/composer, Pete Letanka.
