Revisiting a surprisingly common heritage Traditional songs and dances have long been misappropriated – some say – in the name of art music, the folk world an unconvincing captor in the Concert Hall.

This arresting collaboration unites period instrument specialists and some of the leading lights on the UK folk scene to explore each others homelands and the disputed borders in between – with enthralling and occasionally raucous results.

We regret to inform you that, due to family bereavement, Martin Carthy has had to withdraw from Concerto Caledonia's performance on Thursday, and his solo performance in the Pumphouse on Friday. The event 'Revenge of the Folksingers' on Thursday 23 June 8pm will still go ahead as scheduled.
