Three very different orchestral showpieces to Snape, each encapsulating the essence of the composer – Gershwin’s jazz-infused high jinks, Dvořák’s Czech folk fable imbued with his characteristic harmonies and melodic charm, and Rachmaninov’s sumptuous sonorities and seemingly endless melodies.
