Gwyneth HerbertAfter her Snape Proms debut in 2009, Gwyneth will return throughout 2010 to develop a new song cycle with a strong focus on women’s relationship to the sea. The work will be recorded and taken on a small scale tour.

Charlotte BrayThis promising young composer will be in residence at various times throughout the year as part of the Aldeburgh Composer Residency scheme.
She has also been commissioned by the Academy du Festival d’Aix-en Provence, Verbier Festival Academy and Aldeburgh Music to write for the forces of string quartet and singer, with the piece performed at each the commissioners' festivals.

Faster Than Sound: Parallel LivesCurated by The Wire, this edition of Faster Than Sound sees Norwegian vocalist and electronic improviser and composer Maja Ratkje, independent artist Kathy Hinde and New York-based artist and composer Marina Rosenfeld create Parallel Lives.
During their Residency, the artists will generate parallel projects that will come together in a multi-tiered performance at Faster Than Sound.

Yet another Aldeburgh Residency sees Concerto Caledonia here to bring Folk and Early music together in the Revenge of the Folksingers.
Latin, jazz and world music specialist Alex Wilson took part in an Aldeburgh Residency in September 2008, alongside Malian musicians Madou Sidiki Diabaté and Ahmed Fofana, to develop their Mali Latino project.
