    Andy Sheppard

    Leading UK saxophonist and composer Andy Sheppard used his first Aldeburgh Residency to develop new repertoire with bassist Michel Benita and drummer Sebastian Rochford. The resulting works-in-progress were premiered at an Open Session during the Residency.

    String Quartets in Residence

    The Amaryllis, Heath, Finzi, Renaissance, Doric and Signum Quartets, plus baroque group Ensemble Diderot, spent between one and two weeks in Aldeburgh. The ensembles each took part in our regular series of Friday lunchtime concerts during their stay.

    Composer and conductor James Weeks spent time in Aldeburgh as part of the Composer Residencies scheme.

    Aldeburgh Residencies

    Latin, jazz and world music specialist Alex Wilson took part in an Aldeburgh Residency in September 2008, alongside Malian musicians Madou Sidiki Diabaté and Ahmed Fofana, to develop their Mali Latino project.
